Biography
  Gary Wilkes is the founder and CEO of Gary Wilkes, Inc. (GWI) a Construction Management and Design/Build construction firm with over 17 years of business in Southwest Florida.

Under Gary’s leadership, GWI has built over 25 churches and more than 250 projects for companies like Goodyear, Saturn, Eckerd and SouthTrust Bank.

Gary graduated in the top five of his class with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management and an Associates of Arts in Building Construction. He is also a graduate of three pricing and design schools for metal building construction.

The News-Press and Gulfshore Business magazine have featured GWI, and Gary remains on the media’s list of expert sources for church and commercial construction. Recently, Jack Miller, president of Group Communications Inc., asked Gary to serve as a nationwide mentor to the owners of church construction companies across the United States. Gary has also been a guest on the radio show, Talking Construction.

Gary is a member and elder of Covenant Community Ministries where he worships with his wife and four children. In addition, Gary is a team leader for Men & Women of Action, a group that specializes in the construction of facilities for missionaries, orphanages and new churches around the world.

Fort Myers, FL
Founder, Financier, President and License Holder for Gary Wilkes, Inc.  Established and developed a contracting and construction management firm specializing in all types of commercial projects, Construction Management and Design/Build projects. The firm has completed in excess of 250 projects, canvassing the local five-county area and other areas, such as Ocala, Orlando, and Daytona Beach. Acquired and managed a strong bonded company which now has some of the best bond rates available.
Sept. 1986 to Dec. 1987 Quinn Construction Of Florida
(Annual Volume +$30 million)
Project Manager for Breckenridge Condominium. Duties included obtaining development orders and building permits, bidding negotiating subcontracts, direct supervision of all trades for Phase 1(166 units), along with 35 acres of site work Additional areas of responsibilities included Owner's representative for Architect, Engineers and Utility companies. Phase I construction value $5.2 million.
May 1984 to Sept. 1986 Hutchings-Wilt, Inc.
Started as Project Manager with company and responsible for estimate preparation, contract writing, administration and management of individual projects from start to completion. June, 1985- Promoted to Project Operations Manager. Responsible for the direction and control of Project Management Department. Directly responsible for six Project Managers and two Contract Administrators. Project territory consisted of South Florida. Department scope included estimating, contract preparation and control, computerized scheduling and Owner communications. Maintained quality personnel through local hiring and recruiting of building construction students at the University of Florida.

Working with wood, any form of racing, antique tools, and Ford Mustang restorations.
